Korean born designer, J JS Lee, Spring Summer 2018 collection takes its cue from the intricate detailing found on vintage cotton scarves. Lace trims placed against fluid fabrics for a relaxed yet
sculptured silhouette. She is the first womenswear designer to use Huddersfield mill Dugdale Bros & Co’s suit tailing fabric in her collection. J JS Lee’s reimagining of the traditional gentleman’s raincoat, crafted in wool with looped edges for multiple fastening options, is essential to the collection.
“Clever cutting techniques that work in conjunction with hidden buttons to cinch in fabrics on waists, sleeves, cuffs and necklines in a recurring theme across the collection, resulting in pieces that can be worn in various ways. Belts tie inside or outside to pull in or are worn loose. Placed rubber screen prints feature across the collection in geometric shapes a further echo of Hegreberg’s artwork – used to create texture and anchor pockets.”
