Emilio De La Morena‘s Spring Summer 18 collection at London Fashion Week was inspired by woven tweed by a French mill that paid tribute to Amy Heckerling’s Clueless. He imagined taking his muse to Los Angeles, where the film was set and created the perfect wardrobe for her. The woven tweed set the color palette for the collection. Aquamarine, fuchsia, tangerine, and emerald, midnight blue tones dominated the runway.
“He put the tweed to use first by creating sharp tailoring.Jackets with padded shoulders in cropped and bolero styles, complimented by nipped waists and flared hips. These structured pieces are paired with a-line mini skirts and fitted kick flared trousers. Ruffles in bonded silk make an appearance in the sleeves and collars while also winding around the body from the hem to the shoulder. lace is layered tone on tone over bonded silks which provides subtle patterns and accented features in one-piece swimsuits.”
